Wild West Bowl IV set for Saturday in Dodge City
Memorial Stadium will be the site of the 6-man Association Championship and Consolation games, as the 2019 season comes to an end in Dodge City on Saturday.
The full day of football begins at 1 pm, when Weskan (6-4) takes on Golden Plains (6-4) in the Consolation Game. The two North Division teams faced off on October 11, with the Coyotes knocking off the Bulldogs, 53-28. The Weskan Coyotes have placed in all three prior Wild West Bowls, claiming the state title last season and in 2016, while finishing third in 2017.
The Championship Game will follow at 4 pm, with a pair of unbeatens facing off, as the Moscow Wildcats (9-0) take on the Cheylin Cougars (9-0). The two teams each won their respective division titles and earned a first-round by in the tournament, while coming off the bye and winning last week in the semifinals - Cheylin beating Golden Plains, 52-36, while Moscow ended the Weskan title reign with a 62-53 triumph.
Inbetween the two contests, the Kpreps 6-man All-State Team will be recognized.
Gates will open at 11:30 am Saturday at Memorial Stadium. Tickets will be $10 for Adults and $5 for Students, and are good for both games. The games will be streamed by the DCHS Sports Channel on YouTube.
