Volleyball action for Thursday, Saturday

Two Southwestern Kansas teams head west for a Tri-Match, while teams in the Great West Activities Conference will clash at the Goodland Quad on Thursday, among the action to round out the week on the volleyball courts.

Southwestern Heights and Cimarron will head to Walsh, CO, for a tri-match. Walsh is ranked 9th among Class 1A schools according to the CHSAANow.com high school volleyball rankings, and is coming off a sweep of Moscow on Monday.

In Goodland, the host Cowgirls will take on Colby, Hugoton and Ulysses as the GWAC foes will face off on Thursday. Another GWAC team, Scott Community, will travel to LaCrosse for a dual.

A handful of area teams will be in action on Saturday at the Lakin Tournament. Dodge City, Hugoton, Ulysses, Goodland, Cimarron and Holcomb will join the hosts and Hays-TMP in the tournament, which begins at 9 am CT. Other Saturday action includes Greeley County heading to the Wallace County Quad in Sharon Springs, while Scott Community and Southwestern Heights take part in a Triangular at Kinsley.
