Thursday Scores (Oct. 3)

The spotless streak for Garden City volleyball came to an end at the Wichita Heights Quad on Thursday.


In their first match of the day, the Class 6A No. 4 Buffaloes were swept in two sets by Class 5A No. 3 Maize South, 25-22, 25-16. It ended a 14-match winning streak for Garden City, who then swept their other two matches, against host Wichita-Heights and Junction City, to move their mark to 16-1 on the season.

Alan Lopez scored the first two goals of the game as Dodge City picked up a 5-0 road win at Garden City in Western Athletic Conference boys soccer action on Thursday.


In another WAC battle, Liberal dominated their match with Hays, winning 8-0.
