Sublette ends losing skid at Syracuse with rally, 15-14
The Sublette Larks were showing signs of waking up their offense entering Friday night's game at Syracuse, but it took more than three quarters to dent the scoreboard. Then, a gamble pushed them to break a losing streak.
A late touchdown in the 4th quarter, and a successful two-point conversion earlier in the period, lifted the Larks to their first win of the season, 15-14, over the Bulldogs, and ended Sublette's 35-game losing streak.
It is the first win for Sublette since September 25, 2015, when they beat Lakin, 13-12. The victory was also their first against Syracuse since the 2013 season - which took place in Syracuse.
The Bulldogs (0-4) scored twice in the first half and held a 14-0 lead until the beginning of the fourth quarter. The Larks (1-3) scored and converted a two-point try to pull within 14-8. Sublette then scored late in the 4th, and Bryan Hernandez nailed the extra point to put the Lakrs on top.
More details to come as they come in to Southwest Preps.
