Scott City stays in latest football rankings
The latest high school football rankings, put out by Kpreps, Catch it Kansas and Best in Kansas, all have been released for Week 4 of the football season. And only one team is firmly ranked in all three - the Scott City (Scott Community) Beavers.
The Beavers, who have outscored their opponents, 83-3, in their three wins this season, held onto their Top 5 rankings in all three polls. Kpreps has them at No. 5 in Class 3A, while both Best in Kansas and Catch it Kansas place them 4th in the state.
Other teams mentioned in the Kpreps rankings this week, but did not place in the Top 5, were Dodge City (6A), Colby (3A), Cimarron, Lakin (both 2A) and Wichita County (8-man DI).
The Best in Kansas poll, which is released by the Topeka Capital-Journal, also mentions the same teams in the Others Considered category.
Catch is Kansas, which is based in Wichita, goes 10-deep in their football polls. In their rankings, Dodge City is 8th in Class 6A, Colby joins Scott City in the Class 3A poll at No. 10, Lakin is ranked 10th in 2A, and Wichita County is ranked 7th in 8-man Division I.
