Scott City coaching legend to go into KWCA Hall of Fame

Just over a year after stepping aside as the head coach of the Scott Community High School wrestling squad, longtime head coach Jon Lippelman will be inducted into the Kansas Wrestling Coaches Association Hall of Fame this week.

Lippelman spent 33 seasons as the head coach of the Beavers, and 39 years total coaching at the school, and finished in the Top 10 25 times, including eight state trophies, five of which were state titles.

Lippelman will be inducted in the 2019 Hall of Fame class on Saturday, at the end of the annual Fritz Knorr Coaches Clinic in Salina. He will be joined in the Class of 2019 by Jeff Giles of Minneapolis and Jerry Fraser of Clay Center.
