Regional Tennis this weekend
The first of the fall sports in the Kansas State High School Activities Association will reach the postseason this weekend, when girls tennis teams participate in regional action.
In Class 6A, Garden City will host the one-day regional on Saturday, October 12th. Dodge City and Liberal will play in the regional, along with Haysville-Campus, Hutchinson, Wichita-North, Wichita-South and Wichita-West.
In Class 4A, Ulysses will participate in the Wichita Collegiate Regional, also on Saturday, October 12th.
In Classes 3-1A, Cimarron, Scott Community and Greeley County will play in the Meade Regional, which will be a two-day event, Friday and Saturday, October 11th and 12th. Also in the Meade Regional will be Ashland, Coldwater-South Central, Ellinwood, Greensburg-Kiowa County, Larned, Lyons, Minneola and St. John-Hudson.
Meanwhile, Colby and Goodland will play in the Phillipsburg Regional, also a two-day event on Friday and Saturday. Other teams participating will be Beloit, Claflin-Central Plains, Ellsworth, Hoisington, Norton Community, Osborne, Phillipsburg, Russell, Victoria and WaKeeney-Trego Community.
The top six in singles and top six doubles teams will advance to the state tournament, which will be held October 18-19.
