No local teams ranked in Kpreps football poll
For the first time during the 2019 football season, no teams from Southwestern Kansas appear in any of the Kpreps Top 5 Football Polls this week. However, the number of teams considered still remains at seven.
Dodge City (6A), Colby (3A), Scott City (3A), Cimarron (2A), Lakin (2A), Elkhart (1A) and Wichita County (8-man Division I) were the area teams considered for ranking. Scott CIty fell from its No. 5 spot in the 3A poll after losing at home to Beloit in a district contest this past Friday.
Of those teams, Dogde Ctiy, Colby and Cimarron stayed unbeaten and have posted 6-0 records.
This week's No. 1 teams in the respective polls are Derby (6A), St. Thomas Aquinas (5A), Bishop Miege (4A), Andale (3A), Hoisington (2A), Smith Center (1A), Canton-Galva (8-man DI) and Axtell (8-man DII).
