Larson, GC Girls place 3rd at 6A State Bowling; DC's Lenz is 9th

Following up on a strong performance by the Garden City Boys Bowling team, the Buffalo girls' rollers decided to get a little more in the medal count on Thursday afternoon in Wichita.
Karly Lawson posted scores of 193, 240 and 248 to post a 681 series and a third-place finish individually, while the Garden City girls also placed third in the team standings in the tournament at Northrock Lanes.
Lawson was one of three Buffaloes to place in the Top 20 and earn individual medals - Angelina Leeper (219-209-162 - 590) was 15th overall, while Holly Bridges (226-175-183 - 584) was 17th.
Savannah Adams of Junction City won the individual title with a 772 series, helping her team hold off Garden City for 2nd place. Haysville-Campus won the team title, their fifth in six years.
Camryn Lenz of Dodge City also earned a medal, finishing 9th overall after shooting a 177, 225 and 214 for a 616 series.
Liberal's Caitlyn Carlisle had a rough start, but closed with a strong effort, firing a 176 to close out her series.
