KWCA Rankings - Ulysses jumps into 4A Boys Rankings
The Kansas Wrestling Coaches Association released its latest boys wrestling rankings after two weeks of the fall season, and a new team has joined the mix in Class 4A.
As of early Tuesday afternoon, the KWCA had not posted the latest girls wrestling rankings. We will have those in a separate story on Wednesday.
Ulysses, with four individual wrestlers ranked in the Top 6 of their respective weight classes, has jumped into the No. 9 spot in the latest team poll, released on Tuesday. They are one of two area teams ranked in the class, as Scott City maintained its spot at No. 5
Three other area teams are ranked in their respective classes - Goodland is ranked 4th in Class 3-2-1A, while two teams remain locked in their positions that they were ranked in since the preseason - Garden City remains No. 1 in Class 6A, while Dodge City stays at No. 7.
Seven area wrestlers are ranked No. 1 in their respective weight classes. Class 4A has the most No. 1s at three - the Scott Community tandem of Kaden Wren (138) and Justus McDaniel (145), and Ayston Perez of Ulysses (285).
In Class 3A, Goodland's DJ know remains top-ranked at 106 pounds, while Cimarron's Tate Seabolt is still No. 1 at 170. Jacob Holt of Garden City (145) and Dodge City 170-pounder Jashon Taylor hold the top spots in Class 6A.
