KCCCA Rankings - Several area teams mentioned
The Kansas Cross Country Coaches Association has released its latest rankings statewide, and several Southwest Kansas teams earn mention on the lists.
In Class 1A, the Greeley County and Wallace County teams (both boys and girls) were mentioned in the poll. The Lady Jacks harriers are ranked 4th, while the Wallace County boys are tied for 7th in the poll, conducted by stats high school cross country coaches. The Jackrabbit boys and Wildcat girls also received votes in each poll.
The highest-ranked area team is the Stanton County boys, as the harriers from Johnson are No. 1 in Class 2A. Lakin is 3rd in the boys poll, while Wichita County, Syracuse and Meade also received votes. The girls teams from Lakin, Meade and Wichita County also received votes in the Class 2A girls poll.
Both Scott Community teams earned a spot in the Top 7 in Class 3A, with the boys tied for 7th in the polls, while the Lady Beavers are ranked 2nd in the state. Both Holcomb teams, the Cimarron girls and the Hugoton girls also earned votes.
Two other teams earned votes in this week's poll - the Ulysses boys (Class 4A) and Garden City boys (Class 6A).
