K-Preps FB Rankings: Indians stay in 8-M DI Top 5

Not much changed in this week's K-Preps Kansas high School football polls when it comes to the Southwestern Kansas teams.

Seven teams were considered for the polls, but only Wichita County was ranked in the Top 5 of their respective classifications. The Indians (3-1) held their No. 5 ranking from last week, and are staring a clash with Meade (4-0) in the not-so-distant future. The Buffaloes were once again considered for this week's Top 5 in 8-Man Division I.

Five other teams earned consideration - Garden City and Dodge City in Class 6A, Holcomb and Scott City in Class 3A, and Cimarron in Class 2A.

Garden City (3-1) won at previously unbeaten Hays (3-1) in a Western Athletic Conference clash last week, while The Red Demons of Dodge City lost at home to Class 5A No. 2 Bishop Carroll, but the 38-23 final was a little deceptive, as Carroll led 35-10 after the end of the third quarter.

Holcomb and Scott City are coming off of wins last week against winless foes. The Longhorns rolled past Nickerson, 55-0, while the Beavers beat 0-4 Goodland, 21-6. Cimarron used three touchdown passes from Braxton Harrison in a 40-13 win at Southwestern heights in Week 4.
