Hoop action resumes tonight
Three area girls basketball teams will be playing in two tournaments which start on Thursday, and two makeup games will take place as the high school basketball slate in Southwestern Kansas gets back underway a day earlier than normal.
The Ulysses girls will open play tonight against host McPherson at the 25th Annual Mid-America Classic Girls Basketball Tournament, while both Dodge City and Garden City open play today at the 44th Annual Newton Invitational. Dodge City will play in the main bracket against Olathe Northwest at 4 pm, while Garden City will face Andover Central in pool play at 6 pm, then play top-seeded Andover Central on Friday at 6 pm.
Two other games are on the schedule, both make-up games from this past Tuesday. Elkhart heads across the border to play at Walsh, Colo., while Deerfield will host Moscow in boys/girls doubleheaders.
