- Southwest Preps
Homestretch of hoop season starts Tuesday
Updated: Feb 11, 2020
Some teams have four games left on their high school basketball slate, some have five or more. But it's just about that time for teams throughout Southwestern Kansas to get ready to put the finishing touches on their 2019-20 seasons.
Tuesday night will be the next time for that to happen, with interesting games throughout the region.
Four area teams will be matched up with out-of-state squads. The most interesting of the bunch - the Liberal boys and girls heading to Guymon, Oklahoma, while Springfield, Colorado comes into Johnson tonight to take on Stanton County. The Lady Longhorns are currently ranked 4th in Colorado Class 1A, and have a 13-1 mark on the season. They'll be taking on the 10-5 Lady Trojans.
On the boys side, a great contest is shaping up tonight in Lakin, as the host - and now Class 3A co-No. 10 Broncs (12-2) - will face Holcomb (10-5).
We'll keep track of what we can tonight and post wrap-ups as soon as possible. You can send finals to us via direct message on Twitter @SWKSPreps, or by Facebook, and as always, you can e-mail copies of scorebooks or game info to us at ben@swkspreps.com.
