Garden City wins WAC Liberal golf meet
The Garden City girls golf squad used a strong team performance to out-shoot the competition and win the Liberal Invitational on Tuesday.
Alyssa McMillen took medalist honors, firing a 3-under-par 33 to beat out Sophia Garrison of Hays by three shots, and helping the Lady Buffs to a 14-shot team victory.
Ashlyn Armstrong fired a 42 to pace Dodge City and finished tied for 4th among individual scorers. The Lady Demons finished five shots behind Hays for 3rd place.
Garden City's effort was bolstered by Grace Yi and Emma Kells, who both shot 43 to finished tied for 6th individually. Dodge City's Elle Fries (44) and Tiley Fry (49) also finished in the Top 10.
Liberal was led by McKenzie Miller's 48.
