Friday, Saturday to determine State hoop field

It comes down to these two days for many high school girls basketball teams, who are still dreaming of heading to the State Basketball Championships. A handful of boys teams also have a couple of days to keep it going.

But by the end of the weekend, 48 boys and 48 girls basketball teams statewide will have a chance to play for a gold ball in the state's six different tournaments.

First, however, there are semifinals to handle in Classes 1A, 2A and 3A. In Class 6A, both Dodge City and Liberal will play for the opportunity to head to the state tournament as they play in Sub-State title tilts tonight.

We will do our best to keep track of everything and post summaries at the end of the night. You can include us on tweets @SWKSPreps, or send information via e-mail to, so that we can use it to publish recaps. Because of prior commitments, the recaps may not be up later tonight, but we will get them up, as well as state match-ups, as soon as we can.
