Football Week 5 - 6-man preview

Here's a look at the 6-man games involving teams from Southwestern Kansas this week, which will feature a collision of two of the best teams in the classification through the first four weeks of the season.

Moscow (4-0) at Ashland (3-1)

Two of the top 6-man teams in Kansas in 2019 face off on Friday night, as the Wildcats take to the road and head into Ashland. Moscow has taken care of their business so far this season, outscoring their opponents, 172-79. The Blue Jays are coming off a 58-46 loss to Pawnee Heights last week, but outscored their opponents, 168-45, in the three games prior. They also handed Natoma their only loss this season in the opener, 53-26.

Rolla (1-3) at Deerfield (1-3)

A battle of two teams who have been struggling for a while takes place this Friday in Deerfield, as both the Pirates and Spartans look for their second wins of the season. The winner could find a way to work themselves into playoff contention.

Weskan (2-2) at Cunningham (1-3)

The Coyotes take to the road and try to snap out of a rare two-game losing streak this Friday at Cunningham, who was the team Deerfield ended their 27-game losing streak against two weeks ago. In those two games, Weskan has lost by a total of seven points, including a 65-61 home loss to Natoma last week. It was the second time in four games the Coyotes had scored 60 or more points.
