Of the two games involving teams in Southwestern Kansas which were a battle of unbeatens, one was one-sided, the other wasn't decided until the game's final play.
Emanuel Aguilar kicked a 32-yard field goal with 1:51 left in regulation, while a tying attempt by Lakin missed wide as time expired, as Cimarron holds on to get a 17-14 win.
The other game involving a battle of unbeaten teams was all St. Francis, who scored 32 points in the first quarter and ended up winning by mercy rule over Wichita County, 46-0.
Dodge City also stayed unbeaten, moving to 6-0 for the first time since 2010, as the Red Demons ran past Hays, 40-21. Beau Foster rushed for four touchdowns to pace Dodge City on offense.
