FB Week 8 Class 2A/1A Playoff Pictures

The Class 2A and Class 1A football playoff pictures in Southwestern Kansas are incredibly easier to understand than the Class 3A scene, which at best can be described as a jumbled mess.

Here's a breakdown - the best we can, anyway - of all the district races involving the Class 2A and Class 1A teams Southwest Preps covers. The first one we will address may be the most interesting race of the bunch.

Class 2A District 7

Compared to the two Class 3A Districts in the area, this race is incredibly simple.

Cimarron has clinched the District title and will hold the top playoff seed out of the district, while Lakin has also clinched the second seed and a home game next weekend.

Sterling and Southwestern Heights are also in the playoffs, and will play for the No. 3 seed this Friday in Kismet.

Class 1A District 7

Sedgwick and Inman could each have a home playoff game, but only one will play in the first round. That's because, with only three teams in District 8, the winner of Friday's game in Inman will get a first-round bye.

Sublette and Meade will also play for seeding, with the winner of the game in Meade avoiding Elkhart in the opening round. The Wildcats have won six straight and will be well-rested after having a bye this week.

Class 1A District 8

Elkhart has won the district title and is the top seed. Stanton County hosts Syracuse on Friday, with the winner earning the No. 2 seed and will get a home game in the playoffs next week. The Sedgwick-Inman loser awaits the loser of the game in Johnson.
