Deerfield FB rolls past Fowler, sets points mark in win
The Deerfield Spartans made sure that their last time on a 6-man football field in 2019 left quite the impression on Tuesday evening.
With the wind blowing and some snow falling, the Spartans did not let the conditions, or Fowler, stop them from setting a school record for points scored in a game.
Deerfield won, 83-34, in a game stopped with 2 minutes, 22 seconds left in the third quarter due to the 45-point rule. The point total is the highest in the program's history.
The win enabled the Spartans (4-5) to end the season with the most wins by the school since the 2010 season. The program had ended a 26-game losing streak in a Week 2 win over Cunningham.
