Class 6A Baseball - Where we Stand - April 22
Updated: Apr 29, 2021
With the regular season on the back end, teams are trying to make due with what Mother Nature has handed them and get themselves in the best position possible as the post-season nears. For most squads, that means finishing up the season and hopping right into the playoffs.
We'll take a look to see how teams are stacking up going into the final part of the 2021 season.
Garden City sits at 6-2 and still has action in the next couple of weeks that could strengthen their position, which is currently third behind Wichita-West (11-0) and Derby (8-2). The Buffaloes average 11 runs per game, but have struggled in keeping the opposition from scoring at times, as they allow close to eight runs per game.
Right behind them is Dodge City (8-3), who has a win over Garden City in hand, and will match up with the Buffs next week in Dodge.
Liberal holds the No. 8 seed at the moment with their 5-5 mark. They are one of six teams with a record between a game above or a game below .500. They can score, too, but have been in a number of offensive slugfests this season. The Redskins average 10 runs a game, while allowing an average of nine runs per contest.
