Best of Kansas Football Polls - Scott City holds
The Scott City Beavers remain the only Southwestern Kansas team in a Top 5 in the latest Best of Kansas High School Football polls, released Sunday by the Topeka Capital-Journal.
The Beavers, who are one of seven football squads with spotless 5-0 records, stayed at the No. 4 position in this week's Top 5 in Class 3A, a spot they have occupied since the preseason football polls were released in late August.
Six other area teams were among those considered in their respective classes - Dodge City (6A), Colby (3A), Lakin (2A), Cimarron (2A), Elkhart (1A) and Wichita County (8-man Division I). All but Elkhart - who lost to Cimarron to open the season - have similar 5-0 records entering Week 6.
