BBB Finals: Scott Community rolls to opening win

The Scott Community boys basketball team took advantage of a short-handed Wichita County squad and opened the 2019-20 high school basketball season with an impressive 65-36 win on Friday.
The Beavers held the Indians to just 13 points in the second half, using a 26-4 run to close out the contest.
Evan Smith paced three Beavers in double figures with a career-high 22 points. Hunter Yager added 11 points, while Jackson Lewis chipped in with 10 points for Scott Community, who won its opener for the sixth straight season.
Wichita County, who is without Kayde Rietzke until January with an injury, was paced by 15 points from Gabe Hernandez.
Hugoton 78, South Baca CO 42
The Eagles had 12 players score as they took control early and picked up a win in the opener of the RL Ballard Tournament in Springfield, CO, over South Baca. The Eagles will play in tomorrow's championship game against either Springfield or Sierra Grande.
Syracuse 53, Goodland 49
Cody Daze scored 16 points and added 12 rebounds to lead three Bulldogs in double-figure scoring as the hosts overcame a deficit and beat the Cowboys.
Goodland led at the end of each quarter, but Syracuse outscored their guests, 14-9, in the final eight minutes to take the victory.
Henry Cole had 22 points, while Trevor Daize added 12 for the Cowboys.
Ulysses 57, Cimarron 51
The Tigers used a huge first half to take control of the game, then withstood a furious second-half rally by the Bluejays to come out with the victory.
Cimarron trailed 40-27 at the half, but rallied and took a 51-50 lead with about a minute to go in regulation. Ulysses then scored the final seven points of the game to grab the victory.
