2A Elkhart - Lady Trojans roll past Larks; Bulldogs "steal" OT win
Chloe Chenoweth scored 16 points, while Jordyn Tucker added 14 as Stanton County opened Elkhart Sub-State play with a 51-20 win over Sublette on Monday in Johnson.
The Lady Trojans (14-7) used a 19-5 scoring edge in the second quarter to take a 31-12 lead into halftime, then outscored the Larks (9-12) 19-5 in the third to take control of the game for good.
Stanton County also took a team approach to the win - of their 20 made field goals, 18 of them also drew assists, led by nine helpers from Peyton Peterson.
In other Elkhart Sub-State action from Monday:
Syracuse 38, Medicine Lake 34 (OT)
The Lady Bulldogs outscored Medicine Lake, 7-3, in the extra period to win a close contest at Herndon Gym on Monday.
Kate Riley led the offense with 11 points, and also added five of the 22 steals collected by the defense of Syracuse (16-5). Jayden Mitchell had a team-high nine steals for the Lady Bulldogs, while Carly Kullott - who was held to just two points - collected five steals.
The Indians (8-13) kept both Kullott and Margo Stum in check, but Riley, who came into the contest averaging eight points and a steal per game, managed to take advantage of the opportunities to score. Stum was the team;s leading scorer entering the contest, while Kullott is third on the team in scoring, behind Riley.

Ulysses 49, Mulvane 29
The Lady Tigers closed out their season the way that all teams dream of doing - with a win.
And while the 2019-20 season will not be remembered for many successes, at least Ulysses (2-19) can go out feeling good, ending a 17-game win streak with a 49-29 win at Mulvane on Monday.
Neither team qualified for the Sub-State round, and those teams who miss out on the playoffs are allowed by KSHSAA to schedule one last game against each other.
The Wildcats will also end their season with a 2-19 record.
